CVE-2025-34109 is a local privilege escalation vulnerability in PSEvents.exe affecting multiple Panda Security products, including Panda Global Protection 2016, Panda Antivirus Pro 2016, Panda Small Business Protection, and Panda Internet Security 2016 through version 16.1.2. The vulnerable executable runs on an hourly schedule with SYSTEM privileges and loads DLL files from a user-writable directory without proper validation or secure library loading controls. Because the search/load path includes a location writable by low-privileged users, an attacker can place a malicious DLL in the monitored directory and have it loaded by PSEvents.exe during its scheduled execution, resulting in execution of attacker-controlled code in the SYSTEM security context.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module (modules/exploits/windows/local/panda_psevents.rb) that exploits a privilege escalation vulnerability (CVE-2025-34109) in several Panda Security products for Windows (versions <=16.1.2). The exploit leverages the fact that PSEvents.exe, running as SYSTEM, will automatically load and execute any DLLs found in a user-writable directory. The module uploads a malicious DLL payload (defaulting to a Meterpreter reverse shell) to this directory and waits for PSEvents.exe to execute it, granting SYSTEM privileges to the attacker. The module is operational, providing a working privilege escalation exploit with customizable payloads. The main fingerprintable endpoints are the specific directories monitored by PSEvents.exe for DLLs. The code is written in Ruby and is designed to be used within the Metasploit framework.
