CVE-2025-34112 is an authenticated, multi-stage remote code execution vulnerability affecting Riverbed SteelCentral NetProfiler and NetExpress 10.8.7 virtual appliances. The issue chains multiple weaknesses: a SQL injection flaw in the '/api/common/1.0/login' endpoint can be used to create a new user account in the appliance database; that account can then access functionality exposed through '/index.php?page=licenses' and exploit a command injection vulnerability to execute arbitrary system commands. The attack chain can be extended to full root compromise because the appliance's sudoers configuration is insecure, allowing the 'mazu' user to execute arbitrary commands as root via SSH key extraction and command chaining. Successful exploitation results in full remote root access to the virtual appliance.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module targeting Riverbed SteelCentral NetProfiler and NetExpress virtual appliances (version 10.8.7) for remote code execution as root. The exploit chains three vulnerabilities: a SQL injection in the login API to create a malicious user, a command injection in the web interface to execute arbitrary commands, and abuse of an insecure sudoers configuration to escalate privileges to root. The module is written in Ruby and leverages Metasploit's HttpClient and EXE payload generation capabilities. The attacker can specify a payload (typically a Linux ELF binary) that will be delivered and executed on the target. The module interacts with several HTTP endpoints (notably /api/common/1.0/login and /index.php?page=licenses) and manipulates files on the target system (including temporary files in /tmp and the root SSH key). The exploit is operational and provides full remote code execution as root if successful.
