CVE-2025-34300 is an unauthenticated template-injection vulnerability in Sawtooth Software Lighthouse Studio web-survey CGI scripts prior to version 9.16.14. User-controlled survey request parameters are incorporated into generated HTML before the application processes template delimiters. The template processor evaluates delimiter contents using Perl eval, allowing attacker-supplied Perl expressions to reach an operating-system command-execution sink. Earlier 9.15.x input transformation intended to disrupt template syntax can be bypassed by supplying duplicate instances of the affected request parameter.

This repository contains a single Metasploit module targeting a template injection vulnerability (CVE-2025-34300) in Sawtooth Software's Lighthouse Studio (versions prior to 9.16.14). The exploit leverages unsanitized user input in the 'ciwweb.pl' web application, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject and execute arbitrary Perl commands via HTTP GET requests. The module supports both Unix/Linux and Windows targets, automatically selecting the appropriate payload type. The attacker can specify the path to the vulnerable script (default: /cgi-bin/ciwweb.pl) and, if necessary, the 'STUDYNAME' parameter. Upon successful exploitation, arbitrary system commands are executed as the web server user, enabling full remote code execution. The module is weaponized, supporting customizable payloads through the Metasploit framework. The repository is structured as a single Ruby file, following standard Metasploit module conventions.

An unauthenticated remote code execution vulnerability in Sawtooth Software Lighthouse Studio web-survey CGI scripts. User-controlled input is inserted into an HTML template and subsequently evaluated as Perl code through the application's [% ... %] templating mechanism. It affects deployed survey scripts, including commonly used 9.15.x installations; version 9.16.14 corrects the issue.
A high-risk vulnerability in Lighthouse Studio. Details on exploitation or impact are not provided in the content.
