CVE-2025-37749 is an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the Linux kernel PPP subsystem's ppp_sync_txmung processing. The function accessed initial bytes of an skb linear-data buffer without first verifying that the buffer contained sufficient data. An skb associated with a packet carrying an empty payload can have zero data length, making accesses such as the third data byte unsafe. The fix adds bounds checking before accessing the skb's initial bytes.
