CVE-2025-38234 is a race condition in the Linux kernel real-time scheduler's push_rt_task path. While find_lock_lowest_rq() drops and reacquires runqueue locks needed to push a real-time task between CPUs, the selected task can be migrated, execute on another CPU, and be woken and requeued. In the affected edge case, on_rq remains set although the task is no longer present in the pushable-task list, allowing pre-existing validation checks to incorrectly succeed. The resulting inconsistent runqueue and real-time scheduler state can cause list or queue corruption and scheduler failures.
