CVE-2025-38369 is a flaw in the Linux kernel dmaengine IDXD workqueue driver. In container configurations where the device filesystem is mounted into the container, termination of the container's parent process can result in incomplete mount-replica propagation. During user-driver detach, the IDXD workqueue may already have been destroyed, but the detach path can still attempt to drain it through destroy_workqueue(). The resulting use of an unavailable workqueue can trigger a kernel call trace or panic. The fix validates that the driver-allocated workqueue remains available before attempting the drain operation.
