CVE-2025-38441 is a Linux kernel vulnerability in the netfilter flowtable path affecting PPPoE protocol handling in nf_flow_pppoe_proto(). The flaw was introduced by code that failed to account for the Ethernet header when processing packets, which can cause the kernel to operate on uninitialized data. Kernel Memory Sanitizer testing reported a potential uninitialized-value access reachable from nf_flow_offload_inet_hook in the netfilter flowtable ingress path. The issue is resolved by correcting the packet header accounting so the Ethernet header is properly included during PPPoE flow processing.
