CVE-2025-39727 is a buffer-overflow vulnerability in the Linux kernel memory-management swap subsystem. During swap-map setup, setup_swap_map() validates badpage values only against the range (0, last_page]. Because maxpages can be smaller than last_page, setup_clusters() may process a badpage value greater than or equal to maxpages and write beyond the cluster-information buffer through inc_cluster_info_page(). The fix limits calls to inc_cluster_info_page() to badpage values below maxpages.
