CVE-2025-39760 is an out-of-bounds read in the Linux kernel USB core configuration parser, specifically usb_parse_ss_endpoint_companion(). The function checked a SuperSpeed endpoint companion descriptor's type before validating that the descriptor was large enough to contain the accessed field. A malformed or truncated descriptor could therefore cause the kernel to read beyond the available parsing buffer. The fix validates descriptor size before accessing descriptor fields.
