CVE-2025-39982 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel Bluetooth HCI event and synchronous connection-creation handling. A Bluetooth connection object can remain pending command submission while in the BT_OPEN state and be concurrently released by connection-completion processing. The synchronous ACL connection-creation path subsequently accesses the freed object, causing a slab write-after-free. Equivalent lifetime handling in the LE connection-creation path is also affected.
