CVE-2025-39993 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel iMON media remote-control driver. The disconnect handler releases USB device references without coordinating with active device users. In particular, interface USB-device pointers are not protected by the driver user counter and can be released while writer operations remain active. A concurrent writer can subsequently use a freed USB-device pointer while preparing or sending a packet. The fix introduces a synchronized disconnected state, protected by the driver lock, and causes affected writer and open paths to return -ENODEV once device disconnection has begun.
