Sprecher Automation SPRECON-E series devices use static default cryptographic key material for encrypted communications. According to the provided advisory context, the PLC webserver and the connection to the Sprecher Engineering Center/Engineering Studio software use the same default private key across devices. Because this key material is not unique per device and can be recovered through related weaknesses such as firmware decryption or flash dumping, an unprivileged remote attacker who can observe or intercept traffic can access supposedly encrypted communications. The issue affects transport encryption and results in loss of confidentiality and integrity for those communications.
