CVE-2025-4404 is a privilege-escalation vulnerability in FreeIPA caused by failure to validate the uniqueness of the krbCanonicalName attribute for the administrative Kerberos principal. A user able to create a service can create one with the same canonical name as admin@REALM, then obtain a Kerberos ticket for that service containing the administrative credential. The ticket can be used to perform administrative operations in the FreeIPA realm.
