CVE-2025-49730 is an elevation-of-privilege vulnerability in the Microsoft Windows QoS Scheduler Driver. The issue is described as a time-of-check time-of-use (TOCTOU) race condition in the Windows QoS Scheduler that can be triggered by a locally authorized attacker. Microsoft associated the flaw primarily with CWE-367, indicating a race between validation and subsequent use of a resource, and also referenced CWE-122. Successful exploitation can allow a low-privileged local attacker to gain elevated execution in the context of SYSTEM. Microsoft rated the vulnerability Important and assigned CVSS v3.1 7.8 with vector AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H.
