CVE-2025-50340 is an Insecure Direct Object Reference (IDOR) issue in SOGo Webmail through 5.6.0. An authenticated user can manipulate a user-controlled identifier in the email-sending request to specify another user's sender identity. The application does not properly verify that the authenticated user is authorized to use the requested sender identity before submitting the message, which allows unauthorized email transmission appearing to originate from another user. The issue is described as affecting the email-sending workflow rather than requiring compromise of the target account. The supplier disputes the finding, stating that effective prevention of sender spoofing should be enforced by the SMTP server rather than the SOGo client.
