CVE-2025-52999 affects jackson-core versions prior to 2.15.0. Parsing sufficiently deeply nested input can exhaust the Java stack and trigger a StackOverflowError, potentially causing denial of service in applications using Jackson. Applications using jackson-databind are also exposed through its use of jackson-core for JSON parsing. Version 2.15.0 introduces a configurable document nesting-depth limit, defaulting to 1,000, and throws StreamConstraintsException when that limit is reached.
