CVE-2025-54589 is a reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability in Copyparty, a portable file server. In Copyparty versions 1.18.6 and earlier, the recent uploads page (/?ru) includes a filter input whose value is appended to the URL as a parameter. That parameter is then reflected directly into a <script> block without proper escaping or output encoding. As a result, attacker-controlled input can break out of the intended JavaScript context and execute arbitrary script in the victim’s browser when the crafted URL is loaded. The issue affects both authenticated and unauthenticated users who access the vulnerable page.

/?ru) to trusted users or internal networks, placing the service behind authentication where feasible, and avoiding distribution of untrusted links to Copyparty pages. Deploy a restrictive Content Security Policy if compatible with the application to reduce XSS exploitability, though CSP should be treated as a defense-in-depth measure rather than a complete fix. Monitor logs and user reports for suspicious requests containing crafted filter parameters targeting /?ru.Patch, then assume compromise.
