CVE-2025-58056 is an HTTP request smuggling vulnerability in Netty's netty-codec-http component affecting version 4.1.124.Final and versions 4.2.0.Alpha3 through 4.2.4.Final. The HTTP/1.1 chunked-message parser accepts a standalone line feed (LF) as a chunk-size line terminator instead of requiring carriage return followed by line feed (CRLF). When a reverse proxy treats that LF as part of a chunk extension and forwards it without normalization, a crafted message can be interpreted as one request by the proxy but two requests by Netty. This parsing discrepancy enables request smuggling, potentially bypassing front-end access controls and corrupting responses delivered to other clients.
