ThreatFire System Monitor version 4.7.0.53 contains incorrect access control in its kernel driver. An insecure IOCTL permits an attacker to escalate privileges and execute arbitrary commands.

This repository provides a proof-of-concept (POC) exploit for CVE-2025-61156, a vulnerability in the ThreatFire System Monitor (TfSysMon.sys) driver on Windows (version <= 4.7.0.53). The exploit is implemented in a single C++ file (poc.cpp) and demonstrates how an unprivileged user can open a handle to the vulnerable driver and send a crafted IOCTL to terminate protected processes, such as Windows Defender (MsMpEng.exe), with kernel privileges. This results in the ability to bypass EDR/AV protections or cause a local denial of service. The repository also includes a README.md with a detailed vulnerability description and a LICENSE file. The main fingerprintable endpoint is the device interface \\.\TfSysMon, which is used to communicate with the vulnerable driver. The exploit does not require administrative privileges and is a typical example of a BYOVD (Bring Your Own Vulnerable Driver) attack scenario.
