ChurchCRM (open-source church management system) versions prior to 5.21.0 contain a pre-authentication remote code execution vulnerability in the initial setup wizard. In setup/routes/setup.php, attacker-controlled setup form parameters are directly concatenated into a PHP configuration template without validation or sanitization, enabling arbitrary PHP code injection. The injected PHP is written into Include/Config.php, which is subsequently executed on every page load, allowing unauthenticated attackers to achieve code execution and potentially full server compromise during/around the installation workflow.

Include/Config.php and executed on subsequent requests. This can result in complete compromise of the ChurchCRM application and underlying server (confidentiality/integrity/availability impact), including data theft/modification, service disruption, and establishment of persistence via server-side code execution. If you can’t patch tonight, do this now.
Patch, then assume compromise.

A critical pre-authentication remote code execution vulnerability in ChurchCRM's setup wizard where unsanitized setup form input is concatenated into a PHP configuration template, enabling arbitrary PHP code injection that is persisted to Include/Config.php and executed on page load.
A critical pre-authentication remote code execution vulnerability in ChurchCRM's setup wizard allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary PHP code during installation, leading to full server compromise. The flaw is due to unsanitized user input being written to a PHP config file and executed on every page load. Patched in version 5.21.0.
