CVE-2025-66022 is a critical remote code execution vulnerability in FACTION, a penetration testing report generation and collaboration framework, affecting versions prior to 1.7.1. The issue is caused by two linked weaknesses in the extension framework. First, the /portal/AppStoreDashboard endpoint lacks an authentication check, allowing unauthenticated attackers to access the extension management interface. Second, FACTION’s extension execution path permits untrusted extension code to execute arbitrary system commands on the server when a lifecycle hook is invoked. An attacker can therefore upload a malicious extension without authentication and have its code executed by the application, resulting in arbitrary command execution on the host running FACTION.
