CVE-2025-66418 is a resource-exhaustion vulnerability in the Python HTTP client library urllib3, affecting versions 1.24 through versions before 2.6.0. HTTP response content decoding permits an unbounded number of chained compression algorithms. A malicious server can supply a response requiring virtually unlimited decompression steps, causing excessive CPU consumption and massive memory allocation on the client. The vulnerability can result in denial of service and is fixed in urllib3 2.6.0.
