Open Source Point of Sale (opensourcepos), a PHP/CodeIgniter web-based POS application, contains a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in versions 3.4.0 through 3.4.1. The issue is in the "Return Policy" Store Configuration field: attacker-supplied input is not properly sanitized/escaped before being persisted and later rendered in receipt output. As a result, a user with access to Store Configuration (e.g., a rogue admin or an attacker with a compromised admin account, including via a separate CSRF issue) can store malicious JavaScript that will execute in the browsers of other users (administrators and sales staff) when they view receipts or complete transactions where the receipt template displays the Return Policy content. The fix in 3.4.2 escapes the output in the receipt template using the esc() function.
