CVE-2025-7026 is a Gigabyte UEFI firmware vulnerability in a Software SMI handler reachable via SwSmiInputValue 0xB2. A local attacker can control the RBX register, and the SMM code uses RBX as an unchecked pointer inside the CommandRcx0 function. When attacker-controlled memory referenced by RBX contains expected marker values such as '$DB$' or '2DB$', the function proceeds to perform arbitrary writes into System Management RAM (SMRAM). Because the flaw occurs in SMM, exploitation can enable execution in System Management Mode and compromise firmware trust boundaries below the operating system. CERT/CC grouped this issue with other Gigabyte UEFI SMM vulnerabilities disclosed by Binarly.
