CVE-2025-7027 is a Gigabyte UEFI firmware vulnerability in a Software SMI handler reachable via SwSmiInputValue 0xB2. The vulnerable logic allows a local attacker to control both the source and destination pointers used by the CommandRcx1 function. The write destination is derived from the unvalidated UEFI NVRAM variable SetupXtuBufferAddress, while the data written is read from an attacker-controlled pointer based on the RBX register. This results in a dual-pointer dereference condition that enables arbitrary memory writes into System Management RAM (SMRAM). Because the flaw occurs in SMM context, successful exploitation can corrupt or modify privileged SMM memory and code paths, enabling escalation into System Management Mode and broader firmware compromise.
