CVE-2025-71235 is a Linux kernel vulnerability in the SCSI qla2xxx Fibre Channel driver. The flaw occurs when the driver is unloaded while device discovery or a fabric scan is still in progress. In the affected flow, module unload sets the UNLOADING flag; after an interrupt is received, discovery processing attempts to schedule follow-on work. Because unloading is in progress, the work item is not allocated, and the driver instead frees previously mapped DMA memory. That cleanup path invokes dma_free_attrs from interrupt context, which is unsafe and can crash the system. Crash traces reference qla24xx_sp_unmap and related qla2xxx discovery/response handling paths. The upstream fix delays qla2xxx module unload until the fabric scan completes, preventing the invalid interrupt-context free.
