CVE-2025-7783 is an insufficient-randomness vulnerability in the form-data package's multipart boundary generation. The package uses Math.random() to generate boundary values. When an attacker can observe pseudorandom generator outputs and control a request field, boundary prediction can enable multipart parameter injection and HTTP Parameter Pollution. Affected versions are earlier than 2.5.4, 3.0.0 through 3.0.3, and 4.0.0 through 4.0.3.

This repository demonstrates an exploit for CVE-2025-7783, a vulnerability in the randomness of form-data boundaries in Node.js applications. The exploit consists of several components: - 'backend.js' implements a backend server that receives user creation requests. - 'vulnerable-server.js' simulates a frontend server that forwards user input to the backend using form-data, with boundaries generated using Math.random(). - 'exploit.js' is the main exploit script. It collects random values from the vulnerable server, uses a Python script ('predict.py' with z3) to predict future random values, and crafts a form-data payload with a boundary that allows injection of an 'is_admin: true' parameter. This payload is sent to the vulnerable server, which unwittingly forwards it to the backend, resulting in privilege escalation. - The exploit requires both servers to be running locally and Python 3 with z3 installed. The attack vector is network-based, targeting HTTP endpoints on localhost. The exploit is operational and demonstrates a real privilege escalation scenario by exploiting predictable randomness in form-data boundaries.
