CVE-2025-9267 affects the Seagate Toolkit Installer on Windows prior to version 2.35.0.6. The installer attempts to load DLLs from the current working directory without validating the DLLs' origin or integrity. This insecure DLL loading behavior indicates the installer relies on relative paths or otherwise fails to use fully qualified paths when loading required libraries. An attacker who can place a malicious DLL in the same directory as the installer executable can cause the installer to load the attacker-controlled library, resulting in arbitrary code execution in the context of the user running the installer.
