CVE-2026-0394 is a path-traversal vulnerability in Dovecot's passwd-file passdb when per-domain passwd files are selected using the %d domain expansion. An attacker-controlled domain component can traverse outside the intended base directory when per-domain passwd files are placed in an unsafe relative location or when slash is permitted in domain input. The flaw can cause Dovecot to open an unintended file whose name ends in “passwd” before authentication.
