CVE-2026-0628 is an insufficient policy-enforcement vulnerability in the WebView used by Google Chrome’s Gemini Live side panel. Before Chrome 143.0.7499.192, a crafted malicious extension could use declarativeNetRequest-based interception and modification of resources loaded by the privileged Gemini WebView to inject attacker-controlled HTML or JavaScript. This crosses the intended security boundary between an ordinarily permissioned extension and the higher-privilege Gemini browser component.

This repository is a proof-of-concept (PoC) exploit for CVE-2026-0628, a vulnerability in Google Chrome (prior to version 143.0.7499.192) that allows a malicious extension to inject scripts into privileged Chrome pages (such as chrome://settings) using the <webview> tag. The repository contains a Chrome extension with a manifest (manifest.json), a background script (background.js) that listens for tab updates and injects a script when a privileged page is loaded, and an injection script (exploit/inject.js) that creates a <webview> element targeting a privileged page and executes arbitrary JavaScript within it. The PoC demonstrates replacing the content of a privileged page with a custom message, highlighting the security impact of the vulnerability. The README provides detailed instructions for reproducing the exploit and mitigation advice. No external network endpoints are used; the exploit targets internal Chrome URLs. The code is intended for educational and research purposes only.

A CVSS 8.8 vulnerability in Chrome's Gemini Live integration that enabled a malicious browser extension to commandeer the privileged AI agent through trusted-context code injection, potentially exposing local files, page contents, screenshots, and device camera or microphone access.
A high-severity Chrome Gemini privileged-WebView flaw exploited by the BragJack proof of concept. A malicious extension can use declarativeNetRequest rules to replace a trusted JavaScript resource, execute in Gemini’s trusted context, and access sensitive browser-agent capabilities.
A Chrome/Gemini Live AI-agent hijacking vulnerability in which a malicious, already-installed extension with web-page modification and declarativeNetRequest permissions can inject code into Gemini's trusted page and issue commands to the browser-resident AI component. The demonstration could read local files, take screenshots, expose browser-profile data, and enable the camera and microphone.
A high-severity vulnerability in Google's Gemini feature implementation in Chrome that can let an attacker access the browser environment and local operating system files.
