CVE-2026-10050 is an authentication-bypass vulnerability in Eclipse Jetty's server-side HTTP Digest authentication implementation. Affected versions encode passwords as ISO-8859-1 byte sequences when calculating digest values. Characters that cannot be represented in ISO-8859-1 are silently substituted with question-mark characters, creating collisions between passwords containing non-Latin-1 characters and corresponding passwords with question marks in those positions. An attacker can submit a crafted Digest Authorization value using the substituted password and have it accepted for an account with a same-length password containing unsupported characters. RFC 7616 charset handling, using UTF-8, prevents this lossy conversion.
