The Snow Monkey Forms plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion in all versions up to and including 12.0.3 due to insufficient file path validation in the plugin’s generate_user_dirpath function. An unauthenticated attacker can supply a crafted path that is not properly constrained to an intended directory, enabling deletion of arbitrary files on the underlying server. The issue is associated with improper limitation of a pathname to a restricted directory (path traversal).

Repository contains a small Python PoC for CVE-2026-1056 affecting the Snow Monkey Forms WordPress plugin (<= 12.0.3). Structure: (1) README.md explains the vulnerable code path in the plugin’s REST handler (View.php) and how setting method=input bypasses CSRF validation, then formid is used unsafely in Directory::generate_user_dirpath allowing traversal; the cleanup routine recursively empties and removes the computed directory, enabling arbitrary deletion. (2) exploit.py is the only code file and entry point; it builds a POST request to the REST endpoint /wp-json/snow-monkey-form/v1/view, sets cookie _snow-monkey-forms-token to a static alphanumeric value to pass token regex checks, sets Referer to the target base URL to pass referer validation, and supplies snow-monkey-forms-meta[method]=input plus snow-monkey-forms-meta[formid]=<user-supplied traversal> (e.g., ../../../../wp-config.php). The script reports success based on HTTP status (200/403/other) but cannot verify deletion beyond server response; actual impact depends on filesystem permissions and correct path traversal depth.
