CVE-2026-11405 is an undocumented authentication backdoor in multiple Tenda firmware versions affecting the web management interface. The flaw resides in the login() function of the embedded web server binary, where normal MD5-based password verification is followed by a hidden alternate authentication path after failure. In that path, the firmware retrieves a separate password value from device configuration and performs a direct plaintext comparison against the user-supplied password. If the comparison succeeds, the code assigns administrator privileges and creates a valid authenticated session. The alternate path does not validate the supplied username, so any username is accepted when paired with the backdoor password. This hidden functionality bypasses the intended credential verification model and exposes administrative access outside the normal authentication workflow.
