CVE-2026-12423 is an authentication bypass in Foreman's unattended provisioning API, as used by Red Hat Satellite. The valid_host_token? method checks whether a host has an unexpired provisioning token in the database rather than verifying that the incoming HTTP request supplies that token. When a host is actively undergoing provisioning, this logic can authorize an unauthenticated request without a token and disclose the host's kickstart template.

An authentication-bypass vulnerability in Foreman and Red Hat Satellite's /unattended/provision API endpoint. Due to flawed token-validation logic in host_verifier.rb, an unexpired provisioning token recorded in the database can cause valid_host_token? to succeed even when a requester supplies no token, exposing the kickstart template.
Provisioning token validation flaw in Foreman that permits unauthenticated information disclosure. Addressed by the Foreman update included in RHSA-2026:74504.
A provisioning token validation flaw in Foreman permits unauthenticated information disclosure. The update enforces valid provisioning tokens for Redhat-family Operating System entries, which disrupts Generic and Subnet Bootdisks. Full Host Bootdisk supports tokens and preserves enforcement. Setting Installation token lifetime to zero disables enforcement and allows unauthenticated retrieval of provisioning kickstart data using arbitrary MAC addresses; this is a security-reducing compatibility workaround, not a mitigation.
A provisioning-token validation flaw in Foreman allows unauthenticated information disclosure. Red Hat includes a fix in the Satellite 6.17.12 update.
