CVE-2026-12541 is an OS command-injection vulnerability in Foreman's foreman-rake db:dump and db:import_dump tasks. The backup task insufficiently sanitizes the destination parameter, and the import task insufficiently sanitizes the file parameter, before passing user-controlled values to Ruby's system() function. An attacker permitted to execute these tasks can append shell commands to the supplied path arguments and execute them with the privileges of the task process.

A command injection vulnerability in Foreman's foreman-rake db:dump and db:import_dump tasks allows attackers permitted to execute foreman-rake, including through restricted sudo configurations, to append malicious shell commands to backup destination or import file paths. Unsanitized input reaches a Ruby system() call, enabling command execution with the task's privileges.
A CVSS 8.2 high-severity OS command-injection vulnerability in Foreman's foreman-rake database dump and import tasks. An attacker already permitted to execute foreman-rake, such as through an overly permissive restricted sudo configuration, can append shell commands to supplied destination or file path parameters, resulting in arbitrary command execution in that execution context.
A command-injection vulnerability affects Foreman's foreman-rake database tasks. Red Hat includes a fix in the Satellite 6.17.12 update.
Database tasks in foreman-rake contain a command injection vulnerability. The advisory provides updated Foreman packages addressing the issue.
