CVE-2026-12597 is an authentication bypass vulnerability in the LoginPress Pro plugin for WordPress affecting versions up to and including 6.2.3. The flaw is in the GitHub OAuth callback handler, specifically the loginpress_on_github_login() function, which uses the first email value returned by GitHub's user email API response as the account-binding identifier without verifying that the email is marked as verified. The vulnerable logic trusts profile[0]['email'], passes that value into WordPress account lookup, and can establish a session for the matched local user. Because the plugin does not validate the authenticity of the selected email claim, an unauthenticated attacker can abuse the GitHub social login flow by associating a matching unverified email address with their GitHub account and triggering the OAuth callback, potentially authenticating as an existing WordPress user, including an administrator.
