CVE-2026-15711 is a resource-allocation and protocol-validation flaw in libsoup's SoupWebsocketConnection WebSocket frame parser. The implementation does not correctly enforce RFC 6455 control-frame payload-length requirements: control frames, including PING, PONG, and CLOSE, must not contain payloads larger than 125 bytes. Processing a non-compliant oversized control frame causes an internal crash rather than immediate protocol-error handling and connection termination.
