CVE-2026-15988 is a cross-site request forgery vulnerability in the AI Engine – The Chatbot, AI Framework & MCP for WordPress plugin affecting all versions up to and including 3.6.5. The flaw is caused by missing or incorrect nonce validation in the plugin's reauth_for_authorize function. By abusing this weakness, an unauthenticated attacker can induce a logged-in site administrator to send a forged request that bypasses intended REST authentication controls. The issue can be chained with WordPress method-override behavior to transform a top-level GET request into an authenticated POST to the REST users endpoint, enabling creation of a new administrator account with attacker-controlled credentials.
