CVE-2026-16756 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in Amazon aws-smithy-http-server affecting versions up to and including 0.66.4. The issue is present in the default serve() path, which lacks connection timeouts, header-read timeouts, and a cap on concurrent connections. As a result, a remote attacker can hold large numbers of connections open by sending partial HTTP requests that are never completed, causing unbounded consumption of server sockets and task resources. The weakness is consistent with a Slowloris-style attack and results from allocation of resources without sufficient limits.
