CVE-2026-16801 is a code injection vulnerability in the variables feature of Devolutions PowerShell Universal 2026.2.2 and earlier. The flaw arises because user-supplied variable values are not properly escaped when they are written to the variables configuration file. An authenticated user who has permission to write variables can supply a crafted value that is interpreted as PowerShell code, resulting in arbitrary code execution by the application. The injected code executes in the context of the PowerShell Universal service account.
