CVE-2026-16802 is a cleartext storage of sensitive information vulnerability in the variables feature of Devolutions PowerShell Universal 2026.2.2 and earlier. In affected deployments, when no vault is selected for secret storage, secret-type variables are written to disk in plaintext rather than being protected through encrypted or external secret storage. As a result, any local actor or process with sufficient file system read access to the PowerShell Universal application directory can recover stored secret values directly from disk. Exposed data may include credentials, API keys, database connection strings, and integration tokens.
