CVE-2026-16807 is a high-severity memory corruption vulnerability in the Codecs component of Google Chrome. The flaw is an out-of-bounds write condition affecting Chrome versions prior to 150.0.7871.186. When Chrome processes attacker-controlled content delivered through a crafted HTML page, the vulnerable codecs logic can write data outside the bounds of an allocated memory region. This memory corruption condition could destabilize the browser and, according to the published vulnerability description, may allow a remote attacker to potentially achieve a sandbox escape. The issue is remotely reachable through web content and is classified as CWE-787.
