CVE-2026-16860 is an uncontrolled search path element vulnerability in IBM i versions 7.3, 7.4, 7.5, and 7.6. The flaw affects IBM i and allows code execution because the product uses an unsafe search path when locating and invoking resources, enabling an authenticated attacker to influence which executable component is loaded or run. Available reporting characterizes the issue as remotely exploitable by an authenticated attacker with low privileges and notes changed scope, indicating compromise may extend beyond the immediately vulnerable component. Successful exploitation can result in arbitrary code execution on the affected IBM i system.
