CVE-2026-1729 is an authentication bypass vulnerability in the AdForest theme for WordPress affecting all versions up to and including 6.0.12. The issue is caused by improper verification of a user's identity before authentication in the 'sb_login_user_with_otp_fun' function. As a result, an unauthenticated attacker can abuse the OTP-based login flow to authenticate as an arbitrary user without proving legitimate ownership of that account. This includes the ability to log in as privileged users such as WordPress administrators.

Repository contains a small Python proof-of-concept exploit for CVE-2026-1729, described as an authentication bypass in the AdForest WordPress theme. Structure is minimal: (1) README.md with description, requirements, and CLI examples; (2) exploit.py as the sole code file; (3) requirements.txt pinning `requests`. The exploit is a network-based attack against a WordPress site. It creates a `requests.Session()` and sends a POST request to the WordPress AJAX handler `/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php` with `action=sb_login_user_with_otp`, a chosen `user_id` (default 1), and an arbitrary `otp_code` value. The script assumes the theme’s OTP login action is improperly implemented such that any OTP value authenticates the specified user. After the POST, it validates success by requesting `/wp-admin/` using the same session (cookie persistence). If successful, it prints the admin URL and session cookies, and optionally requests `/wp-admin/profile.php` to extract and display the compromised username via regex. No reverse shell or command execution payload is included; the primary capability is obtaining an authenticated admin session (session cookies) for immediate interactive access to the WordPress admin dashboard.
