CVE-2026-18358 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in gnome-remote-desktop as shipped in Red Hat Enterprise Linux. When the daemon is running in system mode with RDP enabled, the incoming RDP connection handler does not properly apply connection throttling to pre-authentication sessions. As a result, an unauthenticated remote attacker can establish large numbers of parallel connections to the RDP listener, causing accepted sockets and pending routing-token operations to accumulate until timeout. This resource exhaustion condition prevents legitimate users from successfully establishing RDP sessions. The issue is described as affecting the Red Hat Enterprise Linux shipped version and not the upstream version.
