CVE-2026-18362 is a missing brute-force protection vulnerability in the IRIS web application component of DFIR-IRIS version 2.4.26, and possibly other versions. The user authentication mechanism does not enforce effective controls such as rate limiting, progressive delays, request throttling, or account lockout on repeated failed password validation attempts. As a result, the login workflow permits repeated authentication guesses over the network without sufficient restriction, enabling systematic password brute-force attacks against user accounts.
