CVE-2026-19534 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in the undici WebSocket client. During the opening handshake, a server can send a Sec-WebSocket-Protocol header even when the client did not request a subprotocol. undici dereferences a null value while comparing that unsolicited value to the requested-subprotocol list, producing an uncaught TypeError in a microtask. Under default Node.js behavior, the exception terminates the entire process instead of failing only the WebSocket connection. Affected releases include undici 6.7.0 through 6.28.0, 7.0.0 through 7.29.0, and 8.0.0 through 8.10.1.
