CVE-2026-19843 is an OS command injection vulnerability in 389-ds-base, affecting the Cockpit 389 Console LDAP editor. The editor constructs an ldapsearch shell command by embedding an LDAP entry's distinguished name (DN) in a command string without correctly escaping shell-special characters. A delegated LDAP user able to create or rename directory entries can create a DN containing shell metacharacters. When a Cockpit administrator views that entry, the injected command is executed on the directory server host with root privileges.
