CVE-2026-20029 is an information disclosure vulnerability in the licensing features of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and Cisco ISE Passive Identity Connector (ISE-PIC). The flaw is caused by improper parsing of XML processed by the web-based management interface, specifically described in supporting content as improper restriction of XML External Entity (XXE) references in the getSpecificPLRfromAuthCode method. A remote attacker with valid administrative credentials can exploit the issue by uploading a crafted malicious XML file to the application. Successful exploitation causes the XML parser to resolve external entities and read arbitrary files from the underlying operating system, exposing sensitive data that should otherwise be inaccessible, including data not normally available even to administrators.
