CVE-2026-20151 is a privilege-escalation vulnerability in the web interface of Cisco Smart Software Manager On-Prem (SSM On-Prem). The flaw is caused by improper transmission of sensitive user information in status messages. A remote authenticated attacker can send a crafted message to an affected SSM On-Prem host and retrieve session credentials from subsequent status messages. Because the exposed information pertains to users currently logged in through the web interface, an attacker with a low-privileged account can use the recovered session credentials to escalate privileges from the System User role to an administrative role. The issue does not affect SSH sessions. Affected versions are Cisco SSM On-Prem 9-202510 and earlier.
